A series of serious injuries cut short "Manny"'s playing career. He spent 9 years of it at Hull City, playing in a number of different positions but usually on the left side of midfield.
He played for City in his testimonial against Grimsby in July 2003, and has also made non-competitive appearances since then in friendlies, reserve team games and exhibition matches.
After his retirement, he was kept on by the club with a job in the commercial department. Since then he has been involved in youth team coaching, and is now Recruitment Officer.
He qualified as an electrician prior to becoming a professional footballer.
His father Arthur Mann, who died in 1999, was also a footballer and a manager.
