Fans' Liaison Committee Meeting 04/12/06

Last updated : 06 November 2007 By Tigers Co-operative

Our guest for the evening was the club's new Commercial Director Andy Dawson who has come to Hull City from Derby County.

We were told that all POLICING issues will be discussed at our next meeting on 8th January 2007 when Sean White, Divisional Police Commander, has been invited to attend. So if any fans have questions to put forward about police issues, please let us have them.

Match Day PROGRAMME - most of the committee think it is an excellent programme but the Co-op representative passed on comments received, e.g. that it is too BIG and too EXPENSIVE. Much of the content can be read on the official website and a lot of it would be better suited to the City Magazine. It was suggested that the programme is shortened to just information about the game in hand, the opposition and the manager's and chairman's notes. It was suggested that more fans would be willing to pay £2 or £2.50 for a programme with less content. One member suggested a one-off programme costing say £1 - would this encourage more sales in the future if fans saw what a good product it is?

STEWARDS - City Independent representative raised the issue about away fans being allowed to stand, but home fans could not. AP will check if this is the case.

AP concerned about the dwindling ATTENDANCES. He is to lower prices next season in the West Stand Upper. By introducing lower priced family packages Under 7s in particular will be encouraged to attend.

SMOKING will be banned in all public places in July 07, therefore there will be no smoking at the KC.

Our Co-op rep asked why BLACK & AMBER KIT is not always worn at AWAY matches when there is no clash, e.g. at Burnley our black shirt clashed much more than our amber shirt would have done and at Southend we should have worn our home shirt with amber shorts as we did at Preston. AP said sometimes the referee insists on the change and sometimes the manager is superstitious.

Next season our AWAY KIT will be WHITE.

STEVE the announcer - criticism expressed of his voice - please ask him to speak normally not to SHOUT - cannot understand what he is saying. Some members felt he had already improved. We are to give him more time.

TICKET OFFICE - Co-op rep stated the official website says it closes at 4.45 p.m. It doesn't, it is open until 5. However, as has been asked before, can it please stay open after a home match? Yes, there will be a trial period after games of keeping the ticket office open.

BOOKMAKERS - "Matchday" bookmakers criticised - not very good. Could well be changing to a different company soon.

PHIL PINDER - apologised and offered to step down from the committee because of a disturbance he was involved in at the home game with Southampton. His apology was accepted.

SPORTS BAR - entry fee of £2 to be reduced to £1, starting next match.

At the end of the meeting discussion took place about the SACKING of the MANAGER and questions were asked about his replacement. We were told that an experienced manager would be appointed as soon as possible but no names were forthcoming from AP despite prodding. There were likely to be moves - out as well as in - during the January transfer window depending on what the new manager saw as necessary.
