Hull City kicked off the match at the KC Stadium attacking the North Stand. The ball was passed back to Damien Delaney, who kicked it long onto the right wing. Stuart Green controlled it and crossed into the box. Nick Barmby hit a firm, side-footed volley past the Walsall goalkeeper Joe Murphy.
