1905 - City are victorious in their first ever league match with a 4-1 win against Barnsley.
1950 - A Raich Carter brace seals a 2-1 win against local rivals Grimsby Town.
Tuesday 3rd
1964 - Ken De Mange born. Irish international midfielder who had a three-year spell at Boothferry Park between 1987-90 after previous stints at Liverpool, Scunthorpe and Leeds.
1999 - Warren Joyce's Hull City pick up first win of the season after getting only one point from the first five games; John Eyre scores twice in a 2-1 win against Chester at Boothferry Park.
Wednesday 4th
Hull City v Grimsby Town (Reserves, kick-off 7pm)
1933 - Brian Bulless born. Made over 350 appearances between 1952-63, scoring 36 goals.
1954 - Bob Crosbie scores all four as City beat Ipswich 4-2.
1993 - Dean Windass scores a hat-trick in a 3-0 win against Bristol Rovers, making it 8 goals just 5 games into the season for the City number 10.
Thursday 5th
1975 - Greg Strong born.
1992 - City continue unbeaten start to the season with Gary Lund and Dean Windass scoring in a 2-1 win against Reading. City then fail to win any of their next 12 league games, and end the season 5th from bottom in Division Two.
Friday 6th
Hull City v Doncaster Rovers (Juniors)
1976 - Ian Ashbee born.
1920 - City shock Birmingham with a 1-0 win, courtesy of a Charlesworth goal. The Blues finish the season top of Division Two, while City end 13th.
Saturday 7th
Cambridge United v Hull City (kick-off 3pm)
1965 - Garry Parker born. Highly talented midfielder who played just under 100 games for City in the 80s before being sold to Nottingham Forest. Represented England at Under-21 and B level.
1982 - Three matches into the season, City get their first win. A Les Mutrie double, along with strikes from Steve McClaren and Andy Flounders, condemn neighbours York City to a 4-0 defeat. The Tigers finish the season as Division Four runners-up and win promotion.
1957 - After scoring just once in the first four games, City then put five past Halifax in a 5-2 win. Doug Clarke got four of them, while Bill Bradbury also found the net.

1978 - Matt Wicks born.

1971 - Rob Dewhurst born. Strong, towering centre back liked for his dominance and determination. Made over 150 appearances for Terry Dolan's City in the 90s.

1999 - John Eyre scores from the penalty spot in a 1-0 win at Torquay.

1962 - David Mail born. Bought by Stan Ternant for £160,000 in 1990. Played in over 150 games.
1987 - Alex Dyer and Garry Parker score in a 2-0 victory against rivals Leeds United at Elland Road.

1963 - Chris Chilton gets a hat-trick and Ray Henderson scores in his first start of the season at home to Millwall.

1991 - Stuart Young scores on his debut in a 1-0 win at Wigan.

2001 - Action-packed finish as Jan Molby's Kidderminster lose 2-1 at Boothferry Park. Justin Whittle gives away a controversial penalty and is sent off 10 mintues from time, and after the penalty is despatched Alexander pops up with a last minute winner for City.

1950 - City beat Brentford with goals from Raich Carter (2) and Don Revie.

1905 - Stanley Alexander born. Score 46 goals in just over 100 appearances for City between 1926-31.
1988 - Keith Edwards brace and Alex Dyer goal seals 3-1 win at Portsmouth.

1975 - Richie Appleby born.
1993 - Linton Brown and Graeme Atkinson delight 7570 crowd at Boothferry Park with goals in the 2-1 win over Huddersfield.

1999 - Ten-men City nearly cause League Cup upset when Colin Alcide and John Eyre goals pull City level against Liverpool at Anfield. However, the Reds score twice to win 4-2, and go through to the next round 9-3 on aggregate.
1939 - Mike Milner born. Tiger of 9 years between 1958-67, playing in 176 games.

1923 - Dennis Durham born. A Tiger for 12 years between 1946-58, making almost 300 appearances.
1972 - City beat QPR - who finish the season 2nd in the table - 4-1, with goals from Pearson, Wagstaff, Houghton and Holme.
Friday 27th
1938 - Maurice Swan born. First choice goalkeeper for City in the Division Three Championship-winning season of '66. An Irish international who made over 100 City appearances in a five-year spell, mostly spent as understudy to Ian McKechnie.
1952 - City beat Sheffield United 4-0 in front of 32,000 Boothferry Park crowd.

Halifax Town v Hull City (Juniors)
1966 - Peter Swan born. Became City's record transfer when bought from Leeds for £200,000 in 1989. Enjoyed a two-year stay as both a centre back and as a forward before being sold on to Port Vale for £310,000 in '91.
1948 - City win for the 9th game in a row from the start of the season, beating Accrington Stanley 2-1. Finished the season as champions of Division Three North.
Sunday 29th
1987 - Frank Bunn (2) and Garry Parker score in 3-1 victory over Manchester City.
1906 - John Smith scores for the 5th game in succession in a 2-0 win against Chesterfield. Smith ends the season with 19 goals to his name from 34 appearances.
Monday 30th
1950 - Ackerman and Harrison score two each as City beat Southampton 4-1.
1977 - Roy Carroll born. Goalkeeper who came through City's youth ranks but was sold before even playing a full season. Now a Northern Irish international at Manchester United.
