The former Manchester United winger, 20, is back in training having been out of action since February with a knee injury.
Although Saturday's trip to Brighton will come too soon for Stewart, Pearson hopes to have him available for selection in the next few weeks.
"It's great to have him back out there and he's a very infectious character," he told the club's official website. "If you didn't know he had a serious injury, you wouldn't think he looks out of place at the minute.
"He is well on track and, hopefully, within the next few weeks, we'll see him back in a competitive environment.
"It will be great to have him available because it will give us another dimension. We know that goals have been hard to come by, but we have some good attacking options and when Cameron is available again, he will add to the mix."
