The Tigers midfielder has been sidelined since early October with knee ligament damage, but manager Nigel Pearson revealed earlier this week that the 32-year-old was expected to be in contention.
Pearson could also be boosted by the return of midfielder Nick Barmby (leg infection), winger Richard Garcia (knee) and striker Mark Cullen (ankle), who all missed out last week but have since rejoined the first-team squad for training.
But the Tigers will definitely be without left-back Andy Dawson, an ever-present this season, who will sit out a one-game ban after reaching five yellow cards.
Kevin Kilbane could step in for Dawson as Hull look to extend their unbeaten league run to seven matches.
