Charlton Athletic's Sergio Leite will sign a two-year contract on 1st July, subject to passing a medical. The 24-year-old is the Portugal national side's 4th choice goalkeeper, and also has an incredible 87 under-21 caps to his name.
He joined Charlton a year ago from Boavista but didn't appear for the Addicks first team. He moves to City on a free transfer to compete with Boaz Myhill after both Paul Musselwhite and Alan Fettis left the club this summer. Fettis is going to Macclesfield Town on a free transfer where he will challenge ex-Tiger Steve Wilson for the number 1 shirt for the second time in his career.
Meanwhile, Delroy Facey has been unveiled as another new signing for City. The 6'0" powerhouse striker has been at West Bromich Albion for the last five months but failed to score in 2 starts and 7 substitute appearances.
The 24-year-old began his career with hometown club Huddersfield Town, for whom he scored 15 goals in 75 league appearances. He then moved to Bolton Wanderers in a £500,000 transfer but failed to make an impression there, and after loan spells with Bradford and Burnley, he joined West Brom in January on a short-term deal for £150,000.
He has turned down interest from other clubs to sign a 2-year contract with City. No transfer fee is involved.
