The defender had agreed to join City last week, but held back on officially completing the deal. City were playing his parent club West Brom on Saturday so he wouldn't have been able to play then anyway, and there were days in it as to whether a 3-month loan would keep him here until the completion of the play-offs. The two clubs have confirmed that the deal has been sealed, and he will be eligible for the end-of-season play-offs should City qualify.

He could make his debut in place of the suspended Michael Turner tomorrow at Bristol City. Simon Walton is the other option to partner Wayne Brown. Manager Phil Brown says he has made his mind up, but will not reveal his choice until tomorrow.

Dean Windass could return on Tuesday, while Bryan Hughes and Nick Barmby also miss the game tomorrow.

Elsewhere, David Livermore and Will Atkinson have both extended their loan spells at Oldham and Mansfield respectively by a month.
