Manager John Still says that City "have reached an agreement for the player" after tracking him for some time. The deal is expected to go through when Tigers chairman Adam Pearson returns from holiday.
The 25-year-old has a record of a goal every two games since signing for the Daggers in November 2003, totting up 31 goals in 61 appearances.
That form made ex-Lincoln manager Still reluctant to let his star man go. He told told the Barking & Dagenham Recorder: "Chris is still very much part of my plans, but I never stand in the way of a player's progress and if it comes off, I'll be very pleased for him. If it doesn't, I'll be just as pleased to have him stay with us."
If Moore does make the move, it won't be long 'til he returns to the Glyn Hopkin Stadium. City go there for their second fixture of pre-season on 15th July.
