The Northern Irish international started last season as City's number 1, but an injury early in the season gave Paul Musselwhite the chance to claim a first team place. Fettis failed to impress when he was recalled for the 3-1 defeat at Huddersfield in November, and was subsequently loaned out to Sheffield United and Grimsby over the course of the season. Musselwhite then held onto his place until Boaz Myhill was signed from Aston Villa in December.
However, with Musselwhite joining Scunthorpe on a free transfer, it leaves an opening for Myhill's backup, and Taylor expects the 33-year-old to become City's new number 2.
He told the Hull Daily Mail: "We're going to need two keepers we can rely on and I'd have absolutely no worries about Boaz and Fettis. They'd be among the best in any division."
