Forrester was given permission to discuss terms with Rovers manager Ian Atkins to make a free transfer move to the Memorial Stadium, but has turned down their offer of a three-year contract.

This could end Peter Taylor's hunt for strikers. He has already secured the capture of Delroy Facey today from West Brom to stand in for long-term injury victim Ben Burgess, and was expected to make another signing to replace Forrester. However, it now looks like the 29-year-old will not be leaving the KC Stadium.
