The Egyptian businessmen, who are based locally, are believed to have invested more than initially anticipated.
They have already set aside £1m to keep HM Revenue & Customas at bay as well as a similar amount for VAT authorities.
Meanwhile, City manager Nigel Pearson says the deal will be a real boost to everyone involved with the club.

He said: "I, like everybody else, is waiting very optimistically for things to be finalised so that we can move forward.
"I'm sure the fans are at a point now where they really are starting to get a little bit frustrated that things aren't being finalised.
"I can assure you that people are working very hard. There have been one or two complications but I'm very hopeful that it will have a very positive outcome."
