Alton Thelwell is doubtful to play with a foot injury, so Richard Hinds is set to move to right-back in his absence. Carl Regan is likely to miss out due to his mother's illness while Marc Joseph isn't fit yet, so 17-year-old Scott Wiseman will travel with the squad for the first time.
If Hinds plays on the right, Damien Delaney is expected to move into the centre of defence to partner Justin Whittle. Andy Holt or Steve Burton will come in at left-back, with first choice Andy Dawson unlikely to be risked. He has only played 45 minutes of reserve team football since injuring his knee in pre-season, but may be deemed fit enough for a place on the bench.
Jason Price is another injury worry for Taylor. He has an ankle knock, and could sit it out tonight.
Taylor said: "Jason has been one our most effective players this season but if his ankle is not 100 per cent he won't play - it's a simple as that. If you take a gamble, there's the danger of missing three of four weeks and that's the last thing we want."
Stuart Green would be expected to move onto the right-wing with Dean Keates coming into central midfield.
Taylor may land loan goalkeeper Michel Kuipers with a surprise start. Alan Fettis is still out for a couple of weeks, and Paul Musselwhite could be dropped to give the Brighton custodian his Hull City debut.
Expected line-up (4-4-2): Kuipers; Hinds, Whittle, Delaney, Holt; Green, Ashbee, Keates, Elliott; Burgess, Allsopp.
Subs: Musselwhite, Wiseman, Dawson, Melton, Forrester.
