The 23-year-old enjoyed a short spell on loan at Sincil Bank last season and would relish the chance to return, but the Imps' financial difficulties makes it look like a non-starter.
The former Grimsby player said: "Lincoln would be the ideal move for me but Keith [Alexander, Lincoln manager] hasn't got any money. I'd go there on loan again if I got the chance but they can't even afford to do that.
"It is very frustrating but there's nothing I can do about it. I just have to knuckle down and try and impress Jan Molby and maybe I will get a chance if I do that.
"It's not going to be easy because of all the new players that the gaffer has brought in during the summer.
"I have got to keep my spirits up and just keep working hard on the training ground."
