It's the third time Simon Grayson has tried to take the striker to Bloomfield Road, after Phil Brown was unwilling to let him go in the summer or in November on loan.
Brown now feels he has enough cover after securing Fraizer Campbell's services until the end of the season, and has allowed the 26-year-old to leave for an undisclosed fee, believed to be worth up to £300,000 eventually. He originally cost City almost £400,000 when moving from Portuguese side Beira Mar in May 2005, and would have been out of contract at the end of this season.
His time at City has been plagued by injuries, and he only managed to score 3 goals - all of them this season - in 23 starts and 17 substitute appearances overall. He described his spell with the club as "frustrating", and is glad to have signed a 2½-year contract with Blackpool after initiating the move last week.
He will link up with two other former Tigers strikers at Blackpool - Ben Burgess and Gary Taylor-Fletcher.
