The defender has been on loan from Liverpool for the last month, and has scored 3 goals in 4 games.
Yesterday it looked doubtful that the 21-year-old would choose to extend the loan, instead looking to earn a new contract with the Reds before his present deal expires in the summer. But Peter Taylor has been successful in acquiring his services for another five games.
He said: "It wouldn't surprise me if they're going to offer him a new contract because as people would have seen he's a classy player.
"But to be fair, that might come to our advantage because if that's the case there's a chance that Liverpool will let him out on loan to us again for his development."
He could go back into the side on Saturday after recovering from tonsilitis.
