As previously reported, Peter Taylor is known to be after another striker, and that looks like being the Silkmen's target man Parkin. He is rumoured to be completing a £150,000 move tomorrow.
The 6'4" centre forward is 24 years old, and has scored 36 goals in all competitions since joining Macclesfield in February 2004. He had started his career at hometown club Barnsley where he made a handful of appearances before moving to York City in 2002.
He will give Taylor much needed cover up front, with Craig Fagan, Billy Paynter and now Darryl Duffy the only fit out-and-out strikers at the club, with Steve McPhee and Ben Burgess out injured.
Taylor is also planning to bring in a left-back to replace the injured Andy Dawson and departed Roland Edge.
Elsewhere, Marc Joseph has completed his free transfer to Blackpool.
