Hull City midfielder Jimmy Bullard, who has been sidelined since early October with knee ligament damage, is hoping to return to the Tigers squad.
Richard Garcia (knee) and Mark Cullen (ankle) have been passed fit, but left-back Andy Dawson is suspended.
MATCH PREVIEW
The Championship's two lowest scoring sides this season meet at Bramall Lane, where Hull's last victory was almost 40 years ago.
Managerless Sheffield United are two places above the bottom three, but have won three of their last five matches. The Blades have the bluntest attack in the division though, having scored only 17 goals, while Hull have netted only two more.
The difference is that City have been effective at the other end of the pitch. The Tigers have kept 10 clean sheets in the Championship this term - a feat bettered only by league leaders Queens Park Rangers.
Hull, who are 18th in the table, have also been boosted by an improvement in their away form, which had been abysmal. They are unbeaten in six away matches and have this week been trying to sign Leicester striker Matty Fryatt in an attempt to add more firepower up front.
