Adam Pearson, chairman of the Stadium Management Company and its tennants Hull City, revealed: "We are still awaiting results of a feasibility report which will look at all aspects of the plan. We're hoping it will get the go-ahead because there are so many benefits."
The plan is to build a second tier on the East Stand to increase capacity from 25,454 to around 30,000.
Meanwhile, Pearson is in talks with a local company to become the new sponsor of the stand. Current sponsor IFS have pulled out due to financial problems.
