Taylor has now told the 28-year-old to get himself playing again: "He is two weeks away from being - as far as I'm concerned - fully fit. I expect him to start playing again and if he doesn't then I will be asking some serious questions."
Appleby is half-way through a three-year contract, but if he fails to make himself available for selection soon then the club may see it within their rights to sack him.
