The two sides shared the spoils when City last visited Plainmoor. Andy Holt thought he had sealed the win 11 minutes from time after a brave header saw him get his first Hull City goal. However, Jon Whitney gave away a last-minute penalty after controlling the ball with his hand, and Richard Kell beat Paul Musselwhite from 12 yards.
City took three points the season before, with John Eyre getting the only goal of the game with a first half penalty. That was our first win at Torquay since 1961 when Crickmore and Price sealed a 2-1 win.
Exactly four years ago today City were on the wrong end of a 5-1 scoreline, with Chris Bettney scoring a concillation goal for the Tigers. Mike Edwards and Neil Mann are the only players still at the club who played in that game.
