A deal was rumoured to be going through yesterday that would exceed £250,000. Cambridge top scorer Paul Kitson was thought to be the player in question, although Torquay's David Graham, Doncaster's Michael McIndoe and Leeds' Nick Barmby have also been linked with moves.
However, an official release from the club states that "there are no immediate plans to recruit additional players to the squad" unless the injury list grows.
Chairman Adam Pearson also told the Hull Daily Mail: "At this stage, we are not talking to anyone and we will not be signing anyone. There was a very slight chance something might have happened earlier in the week."
Meanwhile, there has been outgoing transfer activity. Following Daniel Webb's loan move to Cambridge yesterday, Carl Regan has joined Chester City on a one-month deal.
