Strikers Jamie Forrester and Danny Allsopp are back to fitness. The former looks like starting the game, but the latter is likely to be on the bench again. Peter Taylor fears that starting Allsopp at York could rule him out of the match against league-leaders Doncaster Rovers two days later.
Meanwhile, Alton Thelwell will return to the squad after a two-month absence with a foot injury. He is expected to be on the bench unless any of the first eleven succumb to illness before the game.
Taylor said: "All three are in contention but at this stage it's too early to say whether they will start the game. I'm happy to keep York guessing.
"I thought Danny did well when he came on last Saturday. His first touch was a bit rusty, which was understandable.
"However, we looked a lot likelier to score with him involved and he was unlucky with a couple of chances near the end.
"Jamie has done a lot more fitness work than Danny and I've no worries about him on that score.
"As for Alton, again his fitness isn't a problem although he's obviously lacking in terms of playing matches. We'll see how he is in training."
The City boss will probably revert to a 4-4-2 formation. Either Dean Keates or Stuart Green could drop out.
Expected line-up (4-4-2): Myhill; Hinds, Joseph, Delaney, Dawson; Price, Ashbee, Green, Elliott; Forrester, Burgess.
Subs from: Musselwhite, Whittle, Thelwell, Holt, Keates, France, Allsopp.
