Northampton Town are set to take control of their Sixfields Stadium after agreeing a 150-year lease with the council. The Cobblers will now take over the general running costs of the ground along with being able to make any improvement s at the ground.

Bristol Rovers are in talks to organise a friendly with the Iraq national side. The game would mark the 50th anniversary of the first Iraqi player to join an English club. Youra Eshaya was on the books at Rovers in 1954.

Oxford United chairman Firoz Kassam has made an official complaint to the Football Association over Southend United's approach for manager Ian Atkins.

Kidderminster Harriers bid for Tamworth striker Scott Rickards has been been described as "derisory" by Tamworth manager Darron Gee - who has challenged Jan Molby to up his bid for the striker. Molby has also been linked with Swansea City pair Jonathan Coates and Lee Jenkins.

The FA Cup third round tie between Yeovil Town and Liverpool will be shown live by the BBC. The game - which is to be played at Huish Park - will be on BBC1 at 1pm on January 4th. The club have played down reports that the game was under threat after a fire caused damage in the ticket office and destroyed the stadium manager's office at Huish Park.

Striker Marcus Richardson has rejoined Lincoln City on a month's loan from Second Division Hartlepool. Richardson has already spent two-months at Sincil Bank earlier this season but returned to Neale Cooper's side when that deal expired. However, Richardson struggled to make it into Cooper's first team plans on his return and has opted to seek first team football elsewhere.

Darlington have taken Italian goalkeeper Alessio Locatelli on a week's trial. The 24-year old is currently a free agent and is a product of the youth system at Inter Milan. Quakers boss David Hodgson has also signed striker Lee Matthews on loan for a month from Second Division side Bristol City.

Cambridge United have taken defender Kevin Stevens on trial after he was released by Leyton Orient.

Boston United manager Neil Thompson has approached Hartlepool United boss Neale Cooper with a view to extending the loan deal of striker Adam Boyd. The 22-year old is set to return to Victoria park after the clash with Northampton Town this weekend. The Pilgrims are also hoping to sign defender Chris Hogg after he was told he could leave Ipswich Town on a free transfer.

Rochdale manager Alan Buckley has invited Kevin Donovan to train with the club following his release by Barnsley. Buckley previously worked with the midfielder during his spells as manager at Grimsby Town and West Brom.

Torquay United chairman Mike Bateson has revealed that the club have turned down a bid in the region of £200,000 for top scorer David Graham. The striker has been linked with numerous clubs over the last weeks but Bateson has refused to name the club who made the last bid.

Bury chairman Albert Doweck has tendered his resignation as a director and chairman of the club.

York City striker Aron Wilford has joined Unibond league side Worksop on a month's loan. The 21-year old joined the Minstermen in the summer but has netted only twice so far this season and has not featured in a league game for over two months.

Swansea City boss Bryan Flynn has been hit with the news that Spanish midfielder Roberto Martinez has suffered a recurrence of his knee injury. Martinez - who will now see a specialist - was taken off during a reserve team fixture against Plymouth Argyle.

Huddersfield Town goalkeeper Ian Gray could make into Peter Jackson's side for the game against Mansfield Town after recovering from a hand injury.

Carlisle United manager Paul Simpson has cast his eye over another trialist during the reserve team fixture against Wrexham. 21-year old Johhny Leonard - who has been playing in the US - will have hoped to impress Simpson enough to earn a deal with the Cumbrians.
