Oxford United manager Ian Atkins has appealed against the red card shown to Julian Alsop during the 0-0 draw with Huddersfield last weekend. Video evidence seems to suggest that there was little if any contact between Alsop and Huddersfield defender Efe Sodje as they clashed in an off-the-ball incident. If the appeal fails Alsop will then be banned for five games as it was the third time that the forward has been sent off this season.
