As of next season, suspensions for accumulating yellow cards will be served a week after the fifth booking rather than a fortnight as is currently the case.
Meanwhile, a red card will result in the player being banned for his next game, again instead of a two-week respite. Appeals must be lodged immediately to prevent a player's suspension.
This season, players are now free from picking up suspensions for five yellow cards. A booking amnesty from the end of February means that players who get a fifth caution before the end of the season will not be sidelined and instead receive a written warning. However, suspensions for 10, 15 or more yellows will still count, as do bans for getting sent off.
Elsewhere, clubs have one week left to sign new players. This season's transfer deadline is Thursday 25th March at 5pm.
