Well I am back off my summer holidays and guess what - nowt much has changed in the world of sport whilst I've been away.
England blow it again in the World Cup, Tim Henman chokes at Wimbledon and England's cricketers chuck it away in the one dayers against India. All we need now is for Tiger Woods to take the open golf championship and the expression 'same old - same old' comes to mind for another depressing summer for British sport.
But wait, there is light on the horizon. We have the new stadium to look forward too. Now, I just could not resist the temptation to have a little peep inside the place. I managed to get a really good view whilst visiting a relative who is currently in the Hull Royal Infirmary.
My first thoughts are: Looks nice but shame about the bloody seats !!!!! I hasten to add that my observations are based upon a view from afar but if I'm a judge about anything, they won't look any better at closer inspection.
I find the colour scheme mind bogglingly bland - but I have a solution.
Dear Changing rooms,
Can you come to Hull because I have the perfect makeover for your team of artisans. By the way, you can't come until early next year because you won't be able to gain access until then. But judging by you past efforts, you couldn't do a worse job than is currently on offer. I'm not your greatest fan and I think the programme is total pants, but if you grant my wish, I'll never complain about matching purple and green in a bathroom again.
Luv ya !!!!!!!
Clive
